A freelance writer with 11 years of professional experience, Tamar Love Grande owns and operates Cranky Editor. In addition to blogging for Smosh and The Meanest Girls on Earth, Tamar is the Los Angeles Dachshunds Examiner and the Los Angeles Gardening Examiner. Her past gigs include:
- Developing and editing more than 20 fiction and nonfiction manuscripts for Random House’s Ballantine/One World publisher and its imprints, Villard and Striver’s Row.
- Researching and writing more than 200 press releases for Prudential California Realty
- Developing re-branding packages for My Agency of Record, which consisted of writing sales copy, media scripts, elevator pitches, ad copy, marketing communications and web copy for a dozen e-commerce sites.
- Creating, staffing and maintaining the Literary Arts section of SF Station, an alternative city guide to San Francisco.
- Writing food features, restaurant reviews and book reviews for SF Station and the newspaper San Francisco Examiner.
- Writing sex ed features for MyPleasure and About.com.
- Copy editing for Wired News.
Tamar received her Master of Arts in creative writing from San Francisco State University in 2000. Since then, she has founded and run Cranky Editor and Wiener Wonderland, and has been published several times in books and anthologies.
