Science and Math Teacher / 1999–2000

Designed and instructed the following science and math courses: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Advanced Integrated Math, Algebra and Pre-Calculus. The position required the complete development of all course material and subject matter. The position also included substitute teaching for other courses when necessary. Other duties included attending staff meetings to discuss outlook of the school, providing input for future courses to be designed and communicating with parents frequently to discuss the progress of their student.

Philhaven Behavioral Healthcare
Student Intern / 1998–1999

Participated in and led group therapy sessions and behavior modification techniques. Observed one-on-one sessions with child psychiatrist and participated in team meetings with staff to discuss treatment plans and diagnoses for patients. Internship culminated in the completion of a research paper on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. The paper included discussions of theories and treatments of the disorder, as well as the effectiveness of those treatments.

Franklin & Marshall College
Conference Assistant / 1998-1999

Assisted with all camps and events on campus, including camps for sports, disabled adults and children, senior citizens and an educational camp for talented youth. Prepared facilities for each group, acted as a liaison between each camp and the college to communicate each other’s needs and resided over all facilities to ensure proper usage. Set up all sound and lighting equipment for public addresses and events and acted as manager for all events at the college’s student center.

Set up, ran and managed all sound and lighting equipment for campus-wide events. Decided what equipment would be necessary for the purposes of each event, procured equipment, built the sets and ran the equipment during each performance. Acted as supervisor of student employees in the college’s student center. Attended staff meetings to discuss all issues relevant to the college’s student center.
