After accumulating seven
years of solid office management and administrative experience,
I'm ready to throw it all away for a career in jewelry design
and production.
Two years ago, I started
my own business, Dragontale Designs; since then, I have
been designing and marketing beadwork necklaces to a select
group of Bay Area clients and retailers. At this point in
my career, I need two things:
- More knowledge of jewelry
making
- A job that pays the bills
Will I be lucky enough to
have both needs met by one position? If not, I have lots
of administrative, office, event coordination and office
management skills to fall back on!
OWNER & JEWELRY DESIGNER
Dragontale Designs, Belmont, CA (2000-Present)
DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
Spark Public Relations, San Francisco, CA (1999-Present)
Manage human resources, facilities, accounts payable and
receivable, bookkeeping, payroll, operations and administrative
tasks for this elite public relations firm. My primary duties
are to keep the office environment organized and running
smoothly, but I also coordinate company offsites and employee
bonus programs, set up employee workstations and handle
IS issues, arrange travel and manage company vendors. I
keep all business records including HR, legal and financial
records.
RECRUITING COORDINATOR
Vitria Technology, Inc., Mountain View, CA (1999)
For this busy integration management company, I tracked
down talent, managed the interview process and screened
incoming resumes and job listing requests, maintaining a
candidate resume database and work with outside agencies
as necessary.
EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
Vitria Technology, Inc., Mountain View, CA (1998)
I served as a liaison to the Finance, HR, Marketing, Sales
and Product Development Departments, acting as office manager,
event coordinator and travel agent, setting up internal
and offsite meetings, Board meetings and events. I supported
the CFO with spreadsheet editing for finance and consulting
projects, worked with Corporate Controller on databases
and other projects, and handled select personal affairs
for the CEO & CTO. I also participated on the Recreation
Council to plan company-wide events.
EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
Netscape Communications, Mountain View, CA (1996-1998)
As an EA for Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of
Products Marc Andreessen, as well as for the Vice President
of Technology and his direct reports, I had a full plate:
I managed office operations, served as a liaison with other
departments, coordinated business transactions, processed
informational requests, managed the executive calendar,
processed equipment and software requests and scheduled
public relations interviews, technical meetings, travel
and meetings with outside contacts.
