Xootr® (pronounced "zooter") electric scooters were created by the award-winning industrial designers of Lunar Design in Palo Alto, Calif., who teamed with a group of high-performance vehicle engineers better known for making race cars. Xootr® wheels are the key to the scooter’s high performance: custom made for the Xootr® and unavailable on any other product, Xootr® wheels are made by molding polyurethane onto aluminum centers, allowing the lowest rolling resistance of any small-wheeled vehicle. Since low resistance means increased speed and a smoother ride, you can expect the best ride from Xootr® scooters.

While most electric scooters weigh up to 65 pounds, the Electric Xootr® weighs less than 20 pounds and folds to a mere 31”, making it an ideal mode of short-range transportation for just about everyone. In addition to being fast, convenient and portable, electric scooters are an environmentally friendly alternative to other motorized vehicles: they emit no hazardous wastes, utilize far less metal and plastic than cars, mopeds and full-sized scooters, and make minimal demands upon roadway or parking lot infrastructures.

The Electric Xootr® is powered by a high-performance 24V brushless DC motor with nickel metal hydride batteries. While it can be used as a kick-scooter when not battery powered, a fully charged battery pack will provide a six-mile scoot, depending on variable conditions such as rider weight, terrain condition and desired speed of travel; the maximum speed is a brisk 17 mph with acceleration from 0-12 mph in 5 seconds. Climbs a 6% grade at 12 mph and a 9% grade at 8 mph; maximum hill grade is 10%. Controlled by a variable speed throttle with regenerative braking action; front lever-actuated friction brake, rear regenerative braking.
