Accompany Changes Name To MobShop
Company Launches Extensive Branding Campaign Online and On-Air

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - MARCH 27, 2000 - Accompany, the pioneer in group buying on the Web, today announced it has changed its name to MobShop, Inc., effective immediately. The Accompany Get It Together NetworkSM of Web community and supplier partners will now be repositioned as The MobShop NetworkSM. The company chose the name MobShop for its suggestion of size, activity and dynamism.

The MobShop Network brings consumers together to increase their buying power through its vast network of Web community partners, who include About.com, Deja.com and iVillage.com.

"We wanted to choose an evocative - and provocative - name for our customers and partners to associate with group buying" said Jim Rose, CEO and co-founder of MobShop, Inc. "The word 'mob' is defined as: 'to crowd with excessive enthusiasm.' That concept suits us perfectly; we are about serving mobs of excited, empowered buyers."

Added co-founder and vice-president of marketing, Jonathan Ehrlich, "MobShop is a big name. As we expand our customer base and extend the reach of the MobShop Network, we want a bold, brash identity that will help us trumpet our message to the masses. We feel that MobShop delivers." The company's network driven business model hasn't changed in any way; MobShop, Inc. still powers the MobShop Network of community and supplier websites.

MobShop will continue to focus on expanding its Network of community and supplier partners and building a critical mass of customers through aggressive marketing efforts. The company also announced today that it has partnered with New York based advertising hot shop Cliff Freeman and Partners to launch its first consumer awareness campaign. CF&P is known for its creative work for clients like Fox Sports, Budget Rent a Car, Staples, and Outpost.com. The MobShop campaign will kick off in six markets nationally, through radio and print media. The company's first radio spots begin airing today. MobShop will spend $20 million on co-marketing initiatives this spring and up to $50 million through the remainder of 2000.
