That Speak The tour begins at Precita Eyes, where Edna,
your El Salvadorian guide, presents a one-hour art history
lesson and slideshow on the mural movement. Then you snake
through a six-block stretch of the deep Mission, where you'll
see murals reflecting core values of the Latino community:
family, social conditions, revolutionary politics, and La Raza
legends, as well as more modern issues.
Eyes into
the Neighborhood More than just an art tour, the Walk
gives locals and visitors real insight into the Mission as a
functioning community. Balmy Alley, the epicenter of the
muralist movement, allows a glimpse at the "real" Mission:
small businesses stand elbow-to-elbow with garages, back
porches and dog runs, all of which are covered with vibrant
images of Latino neighborhood life. Tamar
